- Biography
Tatiana Lamela-Rabell has recently completed her Film MFA at Columbia University, with 'Holy Water' as her thesis film. Her inclination for the arts started with literature and music during her high school years in Puerto Rico, when and where a career in filmmaking seemed to be absurdly out of the question. During her college years she pursued a BS in Engineering from Cornell University with specialization in Electronics, in an attempt to lead a simple and practical life. But her need for the arts came back to haunt her as soon as she graduated. Finding film to be the perfect combination of all the arts she loved, she spent half a year working on her graduate film school application and portfolio. She then made her first film in Cornell, with no clue what she was doing but with all the passion in the world. She started her film writing, directing and producing studies at Columbia one year later, and it changed her life. Now a recent Columbia graduate, Tatiana hopes to continue to make films for a long time to come, as well as to teach the craft to aspiring young filmmakers. She also hopes to contribute to the Puerto Rico film industry in any way that she can. And of course.. to change the world.
