- Biography
Born and raised in Salem, Oregon; Kyle relocated to Los Angeles after being accepted as a fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory in 2008. Prior to AFI, Kyle received a B.A in Business from Northwest Nazarene University, and subsequently worked in the media department at the Oregon State Legislative Administration, and was employed for 4 years as producer and editor for an Oregon production company, IKE Media. During the summer of 2009, Kyle interned at The American Zoetrope, and edited a behind the scenes marketing piece for Sofia Coppola's film "Somewhere". In Kyle's final year at AFI, he was the production manager for a short film entitled Thief, which won the 2011 Student Academy Award. Kyle graduated in 2010 with an M.F.A. in film producing, and was awarded the Tom Yoda Scholarship. Kyle is currently in post production on a short film he produced entitled, "The Bunglers".

THULE, set in 1962, at the height of the Cold War, is the story of a group of young men who, amongst an unknown frozen landscape of darkness, learn the meaning of friendship, communication, loss and the undeniable power of sacrifice. When the delivery of a mail drop fails scattering letters around their airbase, these young men undergo a dangerous rogue mission to salvage any news from home. Tragic, yet ultimately uplifting, our story is about a hero that gives his life to something bigger than himself and, in doing so, enlightens the other men and the viewers of how important it is to live.

Thule won best short film at the New Hampshire Film Festival, best student film at the G.I. Film Festival, and has screened at the Palm Beach International Film Festival, Florida Film Festival, Ivy Film Festival in Rhode Island, Waterfront Film Festival in Sugatuck, MI., Myrtle Beach International Film Festival in South Carolina, Somewhat North Of Boston Film Festival in Concord, and the Salem Film Festival in Oregon.
