- Biography
In 2007, Jarrett Lee Conaway wrote and directed "Anthem", a sci-fi fable about two explorers who discover a time-capsule buried by the refugees of a nuclear war. The short film propelled Conaway to nation-wide exposure when he was chosen by Steven Spielberg, from a pool of 12,000 filmmakers, to participate in the FOX reality competition "On the Lot."
For his MFA at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Conaway wrote and directed Turbo starring Justin Chon (Twilight, Crossing Over), Jocko Sims (Crash "the series", Dreamgirls) and internet superstar David Lehre (Myspace: the Movie, Epic Movie). He wrote the feature script with "Wonder Woman" screenwriter, Brent Strickland.
While attending USC, Conaway was trained by Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis in state of the art performance capture directing techniques, which he plans to incorporate in the feature film version of "Turbo."
In 2008, Conaway was selected from 600+ directors as a finalist for the Disney ABC TV Director's Fellowship. He was also a recipient of the prestigious 2009 Caucus Foundation Student Production Grant.
In 2009, Jarrett was selected as a directing fellow in Film Independent's Project Involve program where he wrote and directed the short "Foolishly Seeking True Love" for sponsors Vanity Fair, NBC Universal and Banana Republic. The film stars Angela Sarafyan (The Informers) and Jason Stoll.

- Film Information & Synopsis
TURBO is a high-adrenaline short film in the tradition of The Karate Kid and Tron. It tells the story of Hugo Park (Justin Chon, Twilight) a misspent youth whose only outlet for angst is a 4D fighting video game called “Super Turbo Arena”. When Pharaoh King (Jocko Sims, Crash the Series), the Michael Jordan of cybersports, announces a tournament to determine who will join his pro team, Hugo's sets his eyes on the prize. But Hugo isn't the only gamer who wants fame and glory. If Hugo wants to win he's going to have to beat Shamus (David Lehre, Epic Movie), the all time Turbo champ at the local Pandemonium arcade, and Ruse Kapri, a feisty prep girl that knows how to win. Realizing he can't win on his skill alone, Hugo turns to his brother Tobias, a former kickboxer whose last match left him confined to a wheelchair. Together the two will mend old wounds and see if a washed up street fighter can teach a troubled teen how to become a virtual gladiator!
