To all CFAN members,

We have been looking for ways to expand the benefits of being a CFAN member. One of the ways
we can do this is to pursue film-related product donations that can be used as door prizes at Mixers, prizes for contests, etc. These would be products that would be solely filmmaking related, and highly valuable to members, such as editing software packages, screenwriting software, production scheduling software, film equipment and rental house discounts, etc. 

Many of these donation sponsors will require, in return for the donation, a list of email addresses of our membership that they can add to their marketing database for monthly newsletters, promotions, etc. There will of course be an "opt-out" option to stop future mailings should it become too much at any time.

As it is our responsibility to protect the contact information of our membership, we are putting it out
to you to ask you if this is something that interests you, and if you'd be willing to provide your email address in exchange for eligibility for product donations.

The way we would do this is by including an "opt-out" checkbox on the CFAN website that you could check if you preferred not to have your email address shared with donating companies.

Please let us know your thoughts on this issue as quickly as possible since our Mixer is fast approaching and there's the potential for a fabulous door prize drawing! :).
