I recently completed a PSA for the Los Angeles Youth Network (www.layn.org). This was an extremely rewarding experience. I worked with Nicola Marsh, www.nicolabmarsh.com, an excellent DP who graduated from the USC MFA program a few years back.
Perhaps the coolest thing about making a PSA for an extremely worthwhile cause is how much vendors are willing to donate! Panavision, Riot/Method Post Production, Deluxe, Kodak, Wooden Nickel, and countless others were extremely generous, giving us what we needed to make a very high-production-value PSA for next to nothing. Panavision even allowed us free use of a techno-crane.
I'm looking forward to the next PSA opportunity with great eagerness. I'm also preparing to build a new website for the Los Angeles Youth Network (they could use an upgrade), and looking forward to spending more time with the organization.
